Re: Are my posts invisible......?

Dunno about fabulous but i did post here earlier asking where you had found these 'flakes' (eg in tank sample or in filter or wherever) and whether they were 'waxy'?

Re: Why?

What on earth do you need four foot long bolt croppers for on a boat? They won't wheel clamp you in the marina, on account of there being no wheels, d'you see.

Re: waxy flakes

yes, i'd say they were a bit waxy! Have you been grating candles and sweeping the debris into the fuel tank? I KNEW there's be an explanation...

Re: waxy flakes

I foundem in a fuel filter. The fuel goes to a main filter under the crew cabin (that isn't in the manual, ahem) and then another raw filter in enginerrom with branches to two engines, then paper filter and finally a canister twistyon filter. I found the flakes in the first filter after the tank. Plus a few greeby bits in the bottom of the glassbowly paper filters yerknow when you let a bit out. (thinks: hmm maybe i did need some gunge-reducing snake oil sooner, after all)

do tell me all about these flakes

Re: Oh No!!

They have not piped the two engines off one pipe to one tank have they. I once rescued a home built twin engined Fly bridge cruiser in Ireland. That had been piped the same way. It got a leak in the pipe, airlocking both engines and filled the bilge with 300 gallons of fuel because they could not turn it off, or else no fuel to either engine. I play hell cos I had two tanks but no change over system so had to add one. Cost about 10 quid in parts and could have been done in 15 minutes if done at build stage. Total waist of time having two engines if its compomised by one pipe and one tank. Bit like only having one wife. If she breaks down or buggers off, yer bollocksed!!
