Fuel consumption on an eberspacher

Yup, less than half the price with red diesel (includes fuel consumption for my D5LC):

Unless you do what I did and run it from a bidon of heating oil or kerosene as the local garage calls it! 35p a litre last time I bought it. It also does what the American eber website advised, run it on kerosene to decoke it!

I have one of the extremely unreliable Eberspachers on my boat, it's a D3l that was fitted in 1988. Runs like a watch and keeps the boat lovely and warm, doesn't use much diesel at all.

Well, they tell me that they have been along and replaced the glowplug - and it is now running well. The entire unit was rebuilt on the workbench less than five months ago, so that glowplug has successfully lit the burner around six times before it failed - hope this one is better!

Nothing lasts! Our 1984 Eberspacher needed a new temp switch last year though I don't think anyone had ever touched it before that.
