When I fill my Corniche I always get diesel blown back all over the place when the tank is full.

As you never know exactly how much it is going to take (I will learn but have only filled it three times) is there a way to stop this.

I always have the bowl of soapy water ready to wash it down but that can't be good for the evironment.

I would think that when the vessel was built, the vent was manufactured to be big enough to cope, so either you have a blockage, partial or otherwise, or the pump filling the tank is pumping faster than the vent can handle. Another alternative is to fit one of here to your fill system. Other alternatives are, fill slower, or not so full./forums/images/icons/wink.gif

If you listen as she fills you will hear the sound change as she gets to be full, only needs one time of a face full of diesel to remember the sound she makes when full!!!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

You are not alone on this one.

The way we deal with it is to have someone inside to watch the gages which but this is not fail safe and I tend to think that we either under fill a bit or end up with spillage.

Please let me know if you solve the problem

Hi fellow Corniche owner, we looked at buying Fair Lady about 5 years ago when she was based in Wales, but we found Shooting Star which was cheaper and bought it instead. We used to get fuel blow back aswell but we have now learnt that the best way to overcome it is by (as power skipper recommended) listening out for the change in sound as the tank is getting near full also one of us keeps an eye on the gauge to check when to start listening. It seems to be a common problem with this boat.

It's not just corniches that have that problem, tends to be a problem on a lot off boats.
Suggest you let someone else fill the tanks so you don't get covered/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
