Fuel at Guilvinec

Pleasure boat access to Guilvinec is only allowed in cases of force majeure; the diesel most likely to be detaxed only, so not available to yachts anyway

Is it a big quantity? or you might use jerrycans to a road station, then fill again loctudy or benodet.
 
Yes its a lot easier to get diesel in Loctudy the pump is on the outer pontoon thé Access is very easy.You can also refuel in Bénodet but the tide is much stronger and the access to the pump is easier at slack.If you want to enter Le Guilvinec go on the opposite side of the fishing quay in Lechiagat there is a small pontoon for visitors but you need cans to get diesel in a station and it is quite a long walk
 
Thanks for all advice. Now in Loctudy fueled up but was looking at Guilvinec as fuel was getting very low and no wind. As it was we got 125l into a 130l tank so plenty of safety margin!

We have friends who called in there within the last year or so, they reported that yachts are now being encouraged to visit.

I was there two years ago, not by boat and there were a couple of small yachts in the harbour both flying French flags, the town doesn't have much to recommend it to the visiting yachtsman except in exceptional circumstances whereas Loctudy has excellent repair facilities and is set up for yachts and just further on are the Fleshpots of Benodet.:encouragement:

Yes I know but you don't want everyone knowing that much better they go on to Benodet.:p
 
We visited last year for 2 nights after encouragement by a French crew we met in Audierne. There are a couple of visitor pontoons well into the harbour, one on either side for 2 or 3 yachts on each.
The fishmonger was amazing - a common theme in our cruise of Britanny. The town was ok and we found a nice beach in hot weather - but 2 nights was enough.
I’m afraid I can’t advise on availability of diesel but doubt it is readily available here for leisure craft.

Been there a couple of times in the last two years. We were made very welcome.

Moored on a small pontoon at of top of the harbour on the north side. Very food and friendly resturant quite near that pontoon.

Is there fuel at Lesconil?
 
Guilvenec is very friendly to visiting yachts, water and electric on the pontoons, loos and showers and a very friendly bar near the boatyard. Some old pilot books make the place sound unwelcoming but that isn't the case. Well worth a walk to Penmarc'h to visit the lighthouses

No, no fuel there, plus I don't think the pontoons go in until May.
 
A quick update on Camaret: the diesel pump is still out of order. It is not clear when it will be repaired. Nearest diesel is in Brest, Marina du Chateau.
