Anyone ever heard of a GPS getting frozen??
Got down on boat late Sunday, about 0degrees, switched on Plotter to get fix for Navtex to get mornings forecast on Monday. Plotter says "No Fix", no amount of switching on & off raised even a smile from the GPS. Thus missed Monday forecast, same again Monday Morning, "No Fix" Temp up around 2degree by then.
Tootle around to Gun Wharf, Portsmouth, know way ther without plotter, Radar OK, "No Fix" all day, yet everything seems to have power etc. Return O/Village Monday Night, still freezing, "No Fix". Stinker of a storm overnight but does at least lift temperature up around 6degrees. Guess what GPS gets fix as soon as switched on, worked perfect all day, up Beaulieu River, beautiful. Navtex working a treat as always, til now.
Only explanation I can come up with is that the operating temperature had got too low at some point?? Anyone got any thoughts?? Paul
ps. Blooming fantastic out there these last couple of days, cold but just brilliant!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
