I have a friend with problems. Trouble is he's got a manky old boat (MOB) with a scruffy teak deck and he's trying to remove it so it can be replaced. This is taking forever and he is unlikely to get many miles in this year unless something is done about it. If he doused the deck in petrol and chucked a match at it whilst standing by with a fire extinguisher would that be an appropriate solution?

Ok Nick lets make it a joint effort ... you do the petrol , I'll do the match bit!

Dear Chimi

I wouldn't make so free with petrol and matches that close to Fawley. Not sure my 3rd party liability cover would stretch as far as rebuilding Southampton.

Re: Mush better idea ...

Now there's an idea. Someone made a fortune (sic) selling glof clubs made from the QM's propellor, I'm sure all it needs is an astute entrepreneur to do something similar with Ken's teak decking. Maybe Ground Force could use it on their next project? That way we get to see Indigo's deck stripped off by Charlie Dimmock and re-used in a flat in Ocean Village.

Re: At least...

Might do if it wiz in or likely to be in the water, however in the absence of the medium .. it does'nt!
