Is one location more accurate and/or reliable than the other?
I have room to mount the thermostat inside the coolbox while finding a suitable location outside is looking tricky given the capillary length supplied.

The sensor must go in the location where it experiences the temperature being controlled, ie. it must go into the box.in fact I recall that the end of the capillary is clamped onto the evaporator plate, or "cold box".

Further thought. When I converted the ice box on my Westerly Renown to a fridge using a kit available at the time, I clamped the end of the capillary to the cold plate, having led it through a small hole in the box. The other end ( the box with the knob on the front and the terminals for connection wires to the main controller on the compressor unit was mounter above and behind the fridge where I could see and adjust it without opening the fridge lid.
