If a french lock gate opens at 1625 local

is that 1525 BST

Anyone know of a ditty to help remember?

Like uncork a bottle of wine in a sunny high or open a bottle of scotch in a depression ?

Someone replied and deleted it I guess. If it was someone you had on ignore, you'd still see the post, just the body would be "You are ignoring this user"

As a convention the French tend to print tide tables and lock times in "Heure Legale" which is french summer or winter times as applicable at the time.

Another thing to watch out for in General in the UK with dropping marina gates the depth guages tend to show the depth above the gate when closed in the upright position whereas the french appear to start their depth guage from the position of the sill when the dropping gate is open ie down.
