Freight to France

I have just had the same problem for going France - UK for my new boat! Outboard, dinghy - fortress, binoculars etc etc etc. spent ages trying - in the end two only were really interested 1 french 1 english - the english email address is
mailto:fastlane@btinternet.com
If you make up a package of the outboard (no petrol) wrapped in something then several cardboad boxes they will bundle them all together - could be worth getting the bedding etc in the UK and shipping it with the load. You can get them to hold the load delivery for up to a week which gives you a chance to get there to receive it. If not a Carrefour will probably have some bedding.
I have used the french service - cos it's here
good luck with it - Fast lane are nice people. To get a quote you need the overall dimensions LxBxH and the approximate weight. They will pick up your house - deliver to marina/boat yard -
good luck with it!

Re: why not load the car up...

Logistics..

Cos I live in La Rochelle - new boat in Plymouth - planning to take her down the canals to med. Have you seen the price of car ferry tickets compared to flights?

Drive to channel port with loaded car. Get car ferry - disembark and drive Plymouth - unload car - drive to channel port - cross channel - drive to La Rochelle - park car - get on plane and fly....

Or send stuff by freight - fly. Cheaper and faster...
