Do you think this is going to work? My Cobb Oven will roast a chicken to perfection, but will it do proper sailors food? What do you reckon Dylan? Should I take the lid off first?

these wonderful pies now come in several different varieties.....some even represent balanced meals because they contain vegetables....yumy yumy![]()
They don't usually contain much meat though. One big bit and two little ones seems to be about the norm, swimming in a lot of gravy.

I'm not sure what "(Mono-and Di-Glycerides of Fatty Acids))" are but I have seen contents lists that have much more complicated ingredients.It would seem that they don't even contain the incredible lists of preservatives & unnatural colouring compounds that many products contain & don't forget that these wonderful pies now come in several different varieties.....some even represent balanced meals because they contain vegetables....yumy yumy![]()

indeed, E300 is one of the worst...
I found on t'web that it's best to remove totally from the tin, and rotate half way through oven time. This gets rid of the soggy pastry.
