Needing charts from L'aberwach to La rochelle what is the best and most economical way of purchase?

Try the Bloc marine - or similar name. Has all the maps necessary and satisfies French regs - but you have to keep turning the pages.
I wish I'd spotted this before buying a load of Imray (which I don't really like). They look like the equivalent of admiralty leisure portfolios which I love - fit nicely on the chart table with no folds, and of course that is a great price for the coverage. You might find these interesting:-

You can get them from most chandlers in France and by mail order.
The Navi Chartkits are probably the cheapest way of getting the coverage you need.
Otherwise you can get the full size charts as well (from the same place) - but that works out expensive for a full set.
