A Safety commitee HLB?
Commitee for footware approval Pauline?

Oh. Is that me! Ok.

The Mucky Farter Boat Safety Course For Beginners.

1/ Start engine and go.

2/ Oh Bugger should have checked engines. Oh well!

3/ Go back and uncouple shore power.

4/ Unwrap ropes from prop shaft.

5/ That wotsit thingy on the chart looks interesting.

6/ Hammer prop back into shape.

7/ Check that flares and fire extinguishers are no more than ten years past expiry date.

8/ Test effect on passing yacht.

9/ Put the most effective ones back in box.

10/ Check engines for smoke.

11/ If no smoke. Restart engines!!

On the basis that anyone who is easily offended /wound up or can't take a joke shouldn't have even read this far I now formally submit my application.

I propose we encourage a couple of novices to take a Bayliner out this weekend into the North Sea where Gale force winds are forecast.
If I might also be so bold as to volunteer Gludy to go with them in an SD boat to take photos and to report back how they get on.
I would be very interested to know what gets to the rescue first
An RNLI RIB, RNLI Gludy Class or a ******* Frigate !

I clearly stated that I am a meek backroom bod ... nowhere near the class of our scout Brendan so this weekend is a time for him to nip the other way, past Brighton and left after a bit - then scout around the North Sea ........

I predict the first casualty will be the entire galley sub-assembly of the Bayliner coming adrift from the interior (ask Solitaire... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ), so the first rescuer probably needs to be a carpenter who can walk on water...anyone know one?

I had forgotten all about that, my Bayliner Galley also moved on a rough trip from Poole to the Solent.
We left Poole with Galley to Port side.
Arrived Pt Solent with Galley to Starboard side.

Still good boats in the right conditions. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now now Simon, just because I took Indaba around Gilker in more than a F2 with bolts that wouldn't be found in a B&Q kitchen together there is no need to bring up such a "fine" American boat's pedigree! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Just as well you were there to screw it all back together again /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
