In the Replies column what does the red number in brackets mean?

It's the number of new replies which you haven't read.

But I have read the only reply to my post and it still shows a red 1

Did you use the back button on the browser instead of the index link?

Your own posts count, so until you read them, you will still have red outstanding posts to be read.

It doesn't mean anything, just one of many icons people can attach to the thread if they wish.

But by the time they get to 1000 posts, we'll have raised the limit yet again. It's one of the things that annoys me about these forums, the clique should be available to all that reach a reasonable limit, and not keep changing them according to whim of a few /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sorry to be dim but what Black Button? To read a post I just click on its title - if there is a black button where is it and what's it for?

Unfortunately it has not been widely advertised but the black button is now yellow

The red numbers remain red until you have read the posts and understand them!
