Looks like light blue hammerite to me - were,nt Mermaid engines a sort of off white/cream colour?

Believe Mermaid engines still exist

Both my old Mermaids were the creamy colour. This blue looks similar to the old Perkins engines. I don’t think you’re too far off with Hammerite blue.

They came in white for leisure and blue for commercial but they are not answering the phone so I can ask what blue it is

I think the Hammerite light blue has been discontinued.

Mermaid these days a very different company than the proper old Mermaid firm.

The person that might know is Steve Atkins at Seahorse Power.

Absolutely, Cyril Snare and his lovely wife Barbara were a real pleasure to deal with. Sadly Cyril died last year. The old Mermaid Owners Club was brilliant.
Seahorse power are excellent, is there a connection with Mermaid?

The fella that runs Seahorse Power is hugely knowledgeable about Sabres, he worked for them, I suspect he knows a fair bit about Mermaids too.

well I couldn’t find out the proper colour as they don’t make the old paint anymore so I picked a metallic blue to paint my engines.8DED1609-1C5B-420F-AABE-90BFF15FBAF6.jpeg

Ford Sabre, no ECU, no sensors just a lot of grunt with a whiff of smoke to let you know they are still running. Love the simplicity of 'em.
