Siting here in office at Troon marina. Wind gusting to NW F10 with heavy rain and sleet. occasionally to F11. A little exciting on the pontoons at the moment.

Re: Not \'ere

No way. The weathers too hot, the beers too cold, and the natives cant play rugby.

Thats why they all migrate to office jobs in London (or so it seems) /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Winds of 75mph struck Blackpool prom overnight, its just been reported on local radio. Promenade closed to traffic, hotel windows blown in. AND worst of all its blown my bloody fence down! I rushed down to boat which is in its cradle ashore, thankfuly ok.

It sounded like it! My son couldn't sleep last night at Pilling and looked out of the window to see two trees leaning drunkenly over his car. So at 04:30 he moved the car and shortly after the trees blew down.

I take it that my boat is OK at the YC. There's not much I can do about it at the moment if it isn't.

Re: Sandettie Lightship

Was gusting at 36kts at Pwllheli earlier today according to my wind thingy. That didn't bother me as much as how bloody cold the wind chill was, I am not one for feeling the cold generally, but a spent a few minutes untwisting my mooring lines and checking all on deck was ok, I was physically shaking in the cold.

I need to live somewhere hotter, New Zealand sounds spiffing right now.

Thanks Dave.

I don't suppose that the gale has blasted the flaking antifouling off. I shall have to bite the bullet this year though I'm not looking to it.

Cheers

Mike

Pre-emptive action

Made a start yesterday on mine. The advantage was the gale just blew the dead a/f straight across the car park and out to sea - there to reduce the population of barnacles even before next season has officially started.
