Fogstar Drift v Drift Pro

I like the look of Fogstar Draft and they seem to have a good reputation for quality. My question though is the Victron integration worth the extra £200 on the Pro? I do like the idea of being able to see / control the entire system from the GX screen rather than rely on bluetooth and apps on my phone for the battery - just wondering what others think.

When I originally spoke to Fogstar they recommended against using the Drift Pro on a yacht as it has a metal case and was not IP rated. I went with the 460Ah Drift which works perfectly. If you have a Victron shunt that provides all the info you need and accurately registers very small discharges which the Fogstar BMS will not do. I only look at the Fogstar App occasionally just to check that the cells are balanced - which they always are. I wouldn't bother with the Fogstar_>Vicron integration if I were me (which I am )
If you also have a Cerbo GX they you can see the state of the battery on the display (if you have one connected) or on the iPhone app or on the VRM Website (assuming you have some internet connectivity)

I had even noticed the lack of IP rating on the Pro - i'd seen the 67 on the drift and them saying suitable for Marine use and then just assumed and we all know what that means.

Waste of money, there's nothing on the BMS that needs constant monitoring. An occasional look to check the cells are in balance is enough.

I have the Fogstar and it always agrees with the Victron BMS. I used to look at the Fogstar app a lot but now rarely do it’s all just working and happy.
