Hi
I have a Simpson Lawrence's Francis Marine windlass 1000, that has been on my boat for the last 40 years.
The boat has always been moored in marinas so nobody noticed the winch has a problem.
The windlass engine is positive chassis grounded. When the switch is on, I have a 24v shortcircuit through the chain, as the boat is negative grounded.
I would apreciate some advice as I'm not beeing able to get any feedback from Lewmar, Simpson's Lawrence's owner.
