Could it possibly be the much missed Walker Wingsail - a solidly British invention - which has found freedom in the US ?

Great concept, good for a lot of research money, but will it actually work?

Walker wingsail much missed? Crikey we can only hope that they never see the light of day again.

Brilliant concept, and they do / did work. I tried the original version about 20 years ago.

Having invested a bit in the company, I was disappointed to see that that their first products were very large and sophisticated tris, as many of us thought that they should have done simpler smaller boats to start with.

Too much development costs on the electronic controls, and on the technology of big wings, too soon.

I guess they will be re-invented sometime soon !
