Fluxgate compass

Mine loses its reference periodically.
Are they absolute direction indicators or do they routinely need re-aligning?

Absolute, but may need periodic recalibration - usually done by steering in a circle a few times.

Has anyone had experience of Autonnic sensors. Their fluxgate compass has a good spec, the price is right and I’m in the market for one.

I was wondering about that too! Very similar spec (and also so similar looking that I slightly wonder if it is the same) Digital Yacht one is much more expensive.

Unless anyone has any specific experience of the Autonnic one being bad I'll buy one and report back...
