Flood warnings as well!

Electrics, electronics and salt water just don't get on together. Clean fresh water and you might get away with it as long as nothing is switched on.

Why? I thought that diesel engines can survive a ducking, perhaps it is other bits of the car, such as electrics and upholstery that have had it.

The insurance put a "cat 5 destruction notice" on all VIN numbers where black boxes have been under water, I was told its because of possible abs problems.

I tried to by my Dads 6month old Rover back after river flooded it.

They had a few inches of water in the bar, but were open again pretty soon, their main problem was that all the outside furniture had gone "float about" and had to be rounded up i believe.

There is a drain through the wall behind the bar so that flood water can run out again, saves a lot of mop & bucket work.

There's a man who know his pubs!:)

According to a conversation I had on Friday evening with a person in the know on the B'sea Harbour Commissioners, some poor sod who had £200,000 of Ferrari in the underground car park at the marina development on Thursday evening has discovered that it didn't float and also made a pretty lousy submarine!
By all accounts he was in London on business and couldn't get anyone to shift it for him...should be an interesting insurance claim!

Would that be Richards parents car?

It was originally put there because the owner wouldn't allow the barman time off to go for a pee

"The Meadow " @ Fox`s flooded to around 4 ft
Fox`s marina lower boat storage area, the Yardies moved most of the boats out to higher ground. the water breached the newly raised sea wall.
They were on site in attendance most of the night.
The Saab floated from near the mast rack to its present position & that is "Fox Cub" the marina launch they brought down to patrol the flooded area.
The Broon 37 came off of its cradle & is leaning against the mast rack
Many boat owners owe them a beer

A great example of the East Coast Forum 'in action'.

I like many I am sure was concerened about the welfare of our ship. The updates and information were a great source of 'on the spot' detail.

Thanks gents.

I was down there today... It knocked all the white pointy caps off the piles, apparently they were within maybe 3 or 4 inches of the top.... The water came up over the top of the lock gate by several feet, and it was also backfilling by the drains. The new facility block wasn't flooded, but the shipwreck etal was.... Apparently there are quite a few leccy issues as a result..

We were lucky there was no wind.

Some welding to do then, a stitch in time n all that. Most marinas forgot what happened 7 yrs ago & did nothing

How did the marina manage with the 5.4m HW? Must have been well above the lock surround, and close to the top of pontoon piles?

H pontoon got to with 6" of the top of the piles.

Malcolm on Troika was down ready for a move to Woodbridge - it was squeaky bum time!
