Hi

New to boating and want to get something to use over the summer. Have seen a fletcher arrowflyte GTO online. It’s a late 80’s model. With a 45HP.

Would appreciate some advice please on these.

Thank you.

Check transom, stringers and floor. Compression check the engine if you have any doubts around it’s health

Thank you. I realise I’m asking a fairly vague question here. As a newbie would I be better off / less with a rib/sib? I don’t want this to become a money pit.

Depends on your budget, but an old fletcher needs a good look around its structure. 90# of them from the 80’s, will need or have had transom work. Not to mention the flour and stringers. Would never put anyone off a fletcher. Amazing things. But be cautious. It would need to be cheap with that engine too. If it’s the 4 pot classic 45/50. Not very powerful at all.
