five reason not to buy a boat

That one must be a porky. It's been about 20 years since banks had managers that took an interest in your affairs and were able to call to discuss!

Ah, but I didn’t say when this happened, it was back in the early 70’s and the bank manager involved was part of ‘our crowd’, he had a great sense of humour and used to get as pissed as a newt at parties.
All of the 5 reasons happened but not necessarily to the same yachty.

OMG I forgot that!

Because you already own one is my major reason - I have just got myself down to one boat and keep browsing for a second boat again (even though with fixed time constraints the second boat just meant I ate into total sailing time with maintenance for two boats not one)

Reason 1. SWMBO says ‘you’re NOT going down to the boat AGAIN are you?
2. SWMBO asks how come you have time to do the anti fouling on the ‘floaty thing’ but don’t have time to paint the kitchen/ bathroom / lounge etc.
3. SWMBO has just found the last invoice from the chandlers and points out it would have gone a long way to paying for a new 3piece suite.
4. SWMBO reminds you regularly of how you missed her mothers birthday party because YOU got the tides wrong.
5. SWMBO tells you that your bank manager has been on the phone about the overdraft!

My suggestion would indeed be to change the missus, then eventually when you find your feet buy a bigger boat.

My Navigator chose our second boat, some compromises on choice of boat but none on my choice of Navigator. Of course we ought to sell first boat really but if we lose out home over the debt we can moor the two side by side and extend our accommodation area
