Lindsay Lord , who designed “ rum runners “ boats in the prohibition, American PT boat hulls in WW2 , became prof of marine science / hydrodynamics at MIT after the war .
Wrote this famous book ...Naval_Architecture_of_Planing_Hulls.
Reckons the best planing boats hulls should not exceed 4 degrees angle of attack .
The faster you go the lower the angle ....it should reduce with speed , once up .
Its it’s centre of gravity of the rear weight sterndrive 45 ftr and probably not enough lift at the stern , despite a shallow deadrise .
Any how over and above the great artist element , framing etc , it’s the AoA that shouts at me .
