Well finally had Superanne all rigged and done .... friends on board for river trip .....

Let go from decking ... pulled her astern and then easy easy dead slow ahead, hard a starboard to turn and exit to river .... lined up and give more throttle ... ?????? engine stays idling ...

The single lever control is old and the linkage can slip ... so we idle our way out and then stop in river for me to quickly remove and check links behind ... the connecting link bar has snapped that runs from arm quadrant to throttle cable slider ... so Fwd / Astern is fine - but throttle cannot be adjusted.

(One of the guests is a Metal Master - so I showed him and he will make up a new link .... )

So its a sailboat !! Roll out Genny and had a quiet 4 hours on the river ghosting along about 1kn .....

Return into channel was interesting as river level was slowly falling after weather had increased it a few cms. The entrance to my channel is always a 'push through' affair and with an idling engine - took several attempts to find the line to cross 'the bar'.

Everyone enjoyed themselves ... mast and new gear were fine...
