Well at long last I have managed it. Now to make it fit the screen. The boat is my Fastnet 34 and a stunner she is. Picture taken in Port lets have all the notes out of your wallet and the change Solent, but she resides in Southsea, the very posh end of the solent

Graham you asking me for advice on posting images will have Dog watch and LakeSailor snorting their favoured beverage over their key boards as since joining the forum I have displayed serial incompetence at posting and taking images and it is only numerous PMs from and to both of them that have got me to the level of bumbling ineptitude I'm at now.

Press Alt and PrtSc button at the same time(This will pick out top window,If you want whole screen then just push" PrtSc")

(PrtSc button usually top row key board towards the far right[bit like the Mosque post in the lounge])

Open up Paint or similar prog (I use paint.Net as I can then play with the image a bit more),go to "Edit" and click "paste" and screen shot will appear.

Go to "File" click "save as" and making sure J Peg is selected in lower "save as" drop down menu thingy save to somewhere you can find it.

Then treat image as normal photo for posting purposes.

Any probs PM me .

au contraire, I was very grateful when writing the tutor for your advice and help
with what to and what not to include. It has always been work in progress
and I am more than happy to update it as things change.

I am personally not familiar with the photobucket pages concerned with resize, I
prefer more control generally, many of these types of solution assume the world
has broadband which is patently untrue. The ms powertool although a quick way
to resize still makes the file size of the image too large.

I will have a play with the photobucket pages and see if an update to the tutor is in
order, it will make things far simpler, but unless the images come out below 20k
and stay clean I can't say it will happen anytime soon.

The other problem looking at Colin's screen capture is the limited size options, if
you want to add lots of images to one post, such as people will often send 10+
images to describe a recent passage or event (I love seeing these btw) at
640x480 with limited compression this could mean 1/2 hour download
times for dial up users, especially when people press Quote further down the
thread.

I am always up for better ways to present the images if anyone knows one, but
they must be free of charge and advert free, including not watermarking
someones original image. The MS powertool is nearly there, but not everyone uses
a PC nor microsoft, so things are not so easy. I wonder if photobucket takes polite
suggestions on board, maybe we can get them to add a few more options?
