Am looking to buy a boat in the £15 - £18k bracket and would appreciate some views. Ideally looking for something 25-28' for lake sailing on Windermere so not looking for extensive inventory in terms of kit, but main issue is whether to go for bilge keel as limited to 3'3" draft or look for (rarer) lift keel. Is a lifter significantly better than a bilge keel or is it another maintenance issue?
Have a short list of Ben First 26, Hunter Horizon 26/27, Feeling 760 (maybe 720), Juoet 760, Gib Sea 76 (have seen a very nice example).
Looking for something roomy enough to weekend on rather than pure sailing performance but not looking for heavyweight barge as don't need massive sea going ability for Windermere.
Would really appreciate any views and phone numbers of any suitable vendors!.
