OK chaps, I think you can have a look now the suns out and shining....

.. and I thought I was doing well by re-enforcing bulkheads, replacing fuel lines, adding fireproofing, re-wiring etc... (I'll start a separate thread on that sometime).

Good job Rob, what an amazing project to take on.

The fiberglass boys are always going on about how fast the moulding process is; they ain't seen nothing yet!!!
Even plywood and epoxy is meant to be super quick; I bet Vas is surprised how fast steel fabrication is.:)

Place your bets which will get launched first. .........

we are looking at new composite lightweight panels. Scanning the interior for a full 3d cad image, so we can build off site, and just install. This is not going to be the old fashioned way with noggins of timber etc. The whole interior will be floating. They did the same for PJ.. apparently very quiet, no creaking etc...
The hull is over built. we could shave a chunk of weight off, and still well within Lloyds...

Well, apparently my workshop looks like a cross between maplins electronics, aquafax, the local motorbike parts place and no idea what else.... The crates are turning up.
Hoses everywhere, fuel, water, toilet, exhaust.... rolls of tapes, different insulation oards to look at, cables.... the list is ongoing....The last drop was Osculati, with cleats and other deck fittings. And very nice they are too..... (I am impressed with the metal work, some of the plastic boxes look.... A bit plasticy though..... The jury is out.....
I am currently buying in courtesy lights etc to find out what i like and where they are going. I think i will end up for a day or two in southampton round all the chandlers and suppliers....
Bowmar do some stunning stainless steel viewports, so just waiting for confirmation we can get them ce rated and will be ordering a box full...

The plan is to finish the steel work as is, by the end of the month. Not helped by the fact we are some bits missing, some rolling to be done, and the fact the designer is not answering emails or phone calls.... I am pretty well fed up with the lack of communication..... I manage here on a 56k connection shared through the whole ship..... Anyway.... Our paths will cross later.... Nuff said.....

We have the shear calcs for the stabilisers, we are working out the same for the swim platform. Very nice chaps at HB technic will be supplying that. Its lighter, and stronger than i antiicipated, and will fit a walker bay rib easily.....

Next time home, looking for a fibreglass specialist.... Looking for hatch covers and doors, for stowage lockers, and consoles etc....

The jobs continue to expand.... :)

By, link do you mean photos :)
I am fresh out, and leaving the yard boys to there deserved bank holiday... :)
How nice am I :D

I reckon for the next bit, Mapism and JFM should discuss courtesy lights :) my bandwidth here is zero, so i won be doing any research as such... Am struglling to even get 250k jpegs....

I had forgotten it was a bank holiday actually.... And was quite merrily ordering stuff and wondering why no replies were forthcoming....

My next major look out is for hatches. Most have ali frames. I think bowmar also do stainless. Found a company in birmingham area, i hope, can manufacture parts like, anchor lockers and the hatch doors, in grp/composite.
In my experience on steel boats, these are always the bits the give the game up, and corrode at the first chance... So, if they are plastic..... No corrosion...
Will all need moulding...

The cleats are osculati, bulldog. These are being set down into the bulwarks, on stainless plates, so that rope cant rub paint off. I did not want them just bolting on to the top of the side rails either, i think it will look good.

Lewmar v4 anchor winch, probabl in 24v. The hydraulics has probably been dropped due to weight...

We have also a three cabin layout. I think it works really well.
2 main double suites, and a bunk bed cabin. 2 bathrooms. (1ensuite for master)
Have others, but i think this is the one will be going for...

Will that mean a 'step up' in the saloon to the helm station, to allow a bit of the third cabin to fit underneath?

Simply... Yes.
Gives us lots more space to play with. And make use of extra room created by the v drive boxes. The twin bunks cabin is small, but is big enough. Predominantly space given to the two main cabins.

LOL, sorry to disappoint you, but I'll leave that to jfm entirely.
I wouldn't even dare challenging him on this subject...
...not to mention u/w lights, of which I've got none onboard! :D
