Anyone know if there is going to be a Festival of Power this summer?
I went in 2000 and have finally finished my 1962 Broom Javelin restoration and swore I would be there if she was done....but can't find any mention of it anywhere.
Anyone know anything?

Sad to report that there will be no MBY Festival of Power this year (if that's what you're referring to...dunno what Pauline's thinking of). The Powers That Be on the 21st floor of IPC Towers have decreed that the FoP is too labour-intensive and not cost-efficient, so they're not doing it this year. The magazine hasn't given up hope completely, but maybe a change of venue/format is called for. Anybody got any bright suggestions? What do you guys think?

My little Broom is the same sort of style, same period but tiny by comparison - 12'6". However, she's been in the family from new, I've know her all her life and learned to ski behind her etc.

Well, I suspect Cowes were given the date prior to the plug being pulled. That is a shame.
However, at 12'6" I am pretty sure I would have been the smallest there. Which is not to say that i wouldn't be keen to do something, simply that depending on venue i wouldn't be able to play with the big boys. Living ion Lymington made Cowes a nice easy venue for me, too.
I might go to a couple of Classic boat get-togethers this year.

Hello Andrew....Nick Dalton here....stayed with you guys on True Blue last F o P when we part sponsored it and now i have my little boat done up the bloody thing's finished! I'm not towing her to Marbella.
I saw Peter Dredg at the boat show and he tells me they are still using the software I gave you guys for route planning etc, nice one. Also sponsored the FB80 with Weather Foarecasting kit and very nearly got to go with them on the successful record run. Bugger.
Hope you are well and maybe let me know if there is anything going on in the solent this year.

No, that's the Festival of Speed.

Festival of Power was organised by MBY in Cowes every 2 years......right up to the point at which I got my boat done up, of course.
