just had to throw in me bit about the femail lockies..
had the pleasure of chatting to one operating on the caledonian canal last september.
wow. lovley warm smile, helpful...and ................will she go out with me please. and if ur reading this my boat was the big cruiser with loud engines. she kept reminding me how few locks left to go through......

Met the lovely young female lockeeper at Romney lock on Friday, she was very cheerful, friendly and helpful, an absolutely cracking girl !
