Does anyone know for sure that Fein tools will fit a Bosch 'multi master'?
My mistake was buying a Bosch, when Fein seem to have a bigger and better selection of tools.

What about the other way?

Do Bosch tools fit the Fein, I have the Fein (purchased it before the Bosch came out, DOH!), and would rather pay Bosch money for blades than Fein, so will Bosch blades fit?

I have seen some Bosch blades listed as 'also fitting Fein 10mm', and I have measured the fitting on my Fein MM250 and it does have a central shaft of 10mm dia but that is only ever so slightly proud of the 4 locating lugs that go out from the shaft so it seems there would not be much of the central shaft for the blade hole to sit on, and maybe prone to slipping as no mechanical locating pins etc. Anyone any experience?

Thanks

The Bosch tool has a ring of locating pins around the central fixing hole wich locate in corresponding holes in the blade to provide good torque transmission. The fein blades don't have these holes, so the short answer is that they won't fit properly. Hovever, it wouldn't take much fettling to create an adaptor plate to allow interchange of blades.

My fein multimaster went bang recently, and I'll be replacing it with the Bosch. It's significantly cheaper but looks to be very well put together and carries the 3 year guarantee. the blades are a bit cheaper, and I expect the range will increase as the machines become more popular. The fein blades are crazy prices, especially since you tend to use them for jobs where they get worn / damaged. I gave up buying the saw blades and started making my own from strips cut off old Japanese saw blades - these worked better than the fein items.

I thought the situation is that Bosch blades can be used in the Fein but you will have to drill/grind out the star fitting on the Fein baldes to fit Bosch.
