There have been several questions about Feelings over the last few weeks and, if you search on "Feeling" you'll find them all.
The boats are excellent for what you have in mind.

Thanks for that, i did have a check prior to my post on here but their appeared to be little feedback, so i assumed these Feeling Yachts are either very good or very bad

Thanks for your reply though buddy

Hello,
I have a Feeling 346 (about the same size as the 1040) and I am very pleased with her doing exactly the sort of sailing you seem to have in mind. She is quick, responsive under sail and power and spacious down below.

She is not really suited for heavy weather ocean crossing but I am not doing that yet... (she is a heavier lay up than lot of French made boats of the same era though.)

I had started a thread a few weeks ago on this subject. The 1040 was built by Kirie, Les Sables d'Olonne, France between 1985 and 1987. Your right in that there is not much said about these boat but the ones built after Kirie seized trading are not as good I believe they were a cheaper entry level production boat. The similar sized 346 was built 1987 to 1998 and there are a lot more of these around second hand. I have not read about any nasties that will make you run away from these boats, I believe there was two engine sizes on the 1040 both Volvo make, wheel and tiller steering fairly basic equipment levels as standard poor natural light in the saloon compared to other craft, fast and mainly spacious cruiser. One disadvantage is the length of the v-berth which at best is suitable for children or people who are vertically challenged but a good sized quarter berth. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that guys, ironic but the 1040 we were going for has fell through but we have just had our offer accepted on a 1090 with an extremely good survey.
From what i gather, they do have a turn of speed as well as being light and airey however the forward V berth is a bit cramped.

thanks again for everyones comments good to see this forum does work :)
