Fraid not, sails are off and spare bedroom converted into sail loft....SWMBO not happy. Running rigging has been through the washing machine....SWMBO even less happy. Playing a game of deciding how long I can wait in the water before a lift out into the yard, too early and it's going to be freezing trying to work on her, too late and the yard will be full. Got a list of jobs as long as your arm and again, playing a game of the longer I wait the more money I'll have to pay other people to do some of the jobs on the list.

So, I spend my time searching the YBW forums and reading about others still enjoying some winter sailing. To make matters worse my son is currently second officer on a super yacht (mobo) in the BVI for Christmas and the New Year.....lucky bu**er.....winds me up every time he manages to get hold of me on Skype! :(

With the wind gusting 45 knots the only yachts out are Achilles 24 s :-)

Hoping for a few days on the boat next week if weather work and family allow.

At least you dont need an icebreaker to get across Cardiff Bay this year. Last winter I saw some people trying to launch a speedboat into the bay. It rolled off the trailer then sat ontop of the ice. They winched it back on and went home.

We are off to Thornbury SC to wish them Happy New Year, hope the bar will be open!

I have been told that CBYC have a pursuit race, in the bay, on new years day. A number of CYC boats hope to head out for our annual "first sail of the year". That will be about 10-00 on 2nd Jan.

Good point, last year Swansea Marina was frozen solid by now and nobody was going anywhere.....forecast doesn't look too good for second half of Jan. But if I can get the new accommodation batteries fitted, antifouling removed and new antifouling, grp hull faired, power supply fault to binnacle resolved, poor VHF transmission signal, leaking toe-rail seal (hull to deck joint), etc., etc. I could be back in the water by March and do some sailing.....I'll keep my fingers crossed.
