Volunteers wanted for a fast track HOO!
Modus OPerandi HOO + 5 experienced skippers set of in one boat with HOO being trained. Other boats spectate, meet up in pub after the days deeds and get debriefed by the observing boats.

The boy's quite bright but a bit too awake, How long should we set aside for the transformation process?

He's oilfield for chissakes, he's a natural talent for sleeping, part of his job description. I had to send a message to his medic aboard that floating pumptruck he calls a ship, to get them to roll him every 12 hours to stop bed sores!! Had to soak the mattress of his back before sending him off home!

"5 experienced skippers + HOO." Considering that the 5 will each have own, slightly different ways of doing everything, be it mooring/leaving/mixing Martini/ helming/rigging I'd say the poor bugger will not last longer than a couple of days before swimming ashore in desparation vowing never to go to sea again. :) Mick

I'll have you know that we just got back into port at 09:30 this morning since we left on Sunday at 10:00. Had about a total of 12 hours sleep in that time. I obviously am only wanting to do this so that I can reach the venerated level of YM, which should enable me to wave a slip of paper and shout SLEEP!! I am qualified so ah'm off tae mah kip, so youse Maersk Oil pigfarmers kin jist bugger aff.

Ooh jings. This is aw jimi's fault. The wee woman warned me thon fateful morning we set aff tae Hythe. She said 'ahm gonny hate ye efter this'(in that strange Tex/folk drawl). Why says I. She says, 'that we mannie we met at Mercury, is gonny drag ye across tae yon dark side, 'n ony way, whit's wrang wi a big smelly Broom'. 'Wheesht woman' ah said. 'Dinnae fash yersel, it'll be fine'.
Ha! little did ah ken that a wis aboot tae be ensnared wi tales o' mermaids 'n sirens 'n such. Jist whit is a matelot, by the way. Anyhoo, he put me intae a false sense o' security with the gentle meander across the Solent fur a feed 'n a swallie. Little did I realise whit wis in store. The fact tha' he motored most o' the way back jist left me e'en more relaxed. Then it happened. Jist as we hit Southhampyon water awee breeze springs up fae ahent us 'n the next thing ye ken, he's aff like a ferret mutterin somethin about a cruisin sheet or somesuch. Anyhoo, next thing ah ken, he's pullin this canvas sausage ootside an hooks up. Then he pulls on this rope/sheet?? an next thing we're up tae 6 knots doonwind, heelin' ower wi the sea hissin by like hissin sid hisself. Weel that wis it. Hooked. 'Unfair', cries swmbo who's done a bit o' dinghy sailin in her youth. 'Ah telt ye she says', tears in her een(but that mite o' bin the holdin' tank), 'es fair captured ye noo with wi tha' big rag. Ah've lost ye noo fur sure, Think o' the bairns etc'. 'Yahoo!!', ah shouts 'n that wis it. Noo look atme. Postin on the raggie forum, lookin' at big saily things, 'n talkin about learnin 'n stuff.
Next it'll be trips tae froggie land, signin' up tae Crewseekers, cruisin' flotillas, blue & defaced ensigns, joinin' the yacht club,(an no jist fur a pint oan Sunday's).

Jimi, whit huv ye done man????..sob....snivel....Divorce(no.2) is oan ra cards.
