Hmmm, yes hence 25 years and the still niggling reminders.
On the positive, had a boat ( now on 2nd but permission asked 2nd time) would never have managed with protracted negotiations with SWMBO & chief accountant.

Makes me realise how fortunate I am. SWMBO demanded the boat, paid for her, scrubbed her clean and demands to steer her. I’d have had to ask forgiveness if I had failed to procure the right boat.

The Navigator only paid for half, but still insists I keep both sides tidy while maintaining her right to sleep in the middle of the bed with her cold feet on my side.

She does however do the antifouling on her own. It could be much worse

warming cold appendages are pert of a man’s marital duties I thought. Boats though, I like her to save her energy for other kinds of physical activity (Sailing, all you dirty minded bastards), so I paid for the copper coat so she doesn’t have to antifoul. And the sails, the instruments, the new upholstry, rigging both running and standing. I think we are about even, though of course it’s her boat.
