Fairline Phantom 50

I was always intreagued by the hidden cabin on a P50.

Hatch in the saloon floor.......

Henry :)

Yes, I think it was a case of what will we do with the space between the engines and the cabins?
In our boat it was access to the califor, a freezer (never used) and additional storage (we used crew cabin instead).
The SS frame in the carpet always bothered me :-/

The asking price is very competitive v similar listed in UK a big saving over Princess 42s from 2008 - 2010 which are currently on our shopping list.
Ignoring running costs (fuel/berth/maintenance) what is the forums opinion of this craft v a Princess 42 with D6 435s.
Thank you.

I'm also interested in feedback from the survey :-/

Seeing as Cozzey isn't responding to thread or PM permit me to continue...

I found the above points very interesting as the new Princess 43 was our front runner until Medreamer pointed me here - thanks Martyn.

We love the Princess 43 but and I think she is a future winner but IMO the correct engines are the larger Cummins and this option makes her too expensive. A great future used boat though :encouragement:

So, after reading here we started thinking about another Phantom 50. Without SV2 rose tinted glasses on we decided she is just about perfect and if we can purchase at the right price we will invest in equipment and interior mods to bring her up to date.

Today we paid our deposit and subject to survey etc we will take ownership in February. We intend to appoint various companies for the refit so look out for a new thread in due course :o

Thanks Cozzey and I hope you will update us when you make your decision as without this thread we would still be complaining that they don't make the boat we want anymore :encouragement:

Wey hey ! great stuff SV , looking forward to the info as it comes through and of course we need the full JFM style refit report and pictures :-)

Hi Trevor
Compiling the list as we speak. Let's hope the surveys don't throw a spanner in the works :ambivalence:

A bit colder here than UAE :p

Hey SV are you trying to blame me for making you buy a boat ?

Brilliant news that you are getting back on the water and knowing how much you, and especially Mrs SV loved your previous P50 I'm sure youve made a great choice.

I'm happy to see that one of the guest cabins is en suite, wouldn't want to take the Owners Cabin when we come on board ?.

Looking forward to reading about your adventures on here and hopefully spending some time with you on board.

Fair Winds

Meddy

Thanks Martyn

After all our communications over the years it was always on the cards. I'm still shocked it has happened so fast.

Of course you and Mrs Meddy are guests of honour :D

I've tried a PM also but no reply.

The Glasgow boat has a great specification (better that the one I'm purchasing) and I'd love to have known about it.

Ours has the genny, heating, nice interior, not so nice exterior, passerelle (if it can be restored). We will purchase Sat TV, stern thruster, new covers and cushions. Also tempted by new helm seating top and bottom ;)

I will start a Phantom 50 refit thread in due course.

I hope all is ok with Cozzy as he used to be a regular poster on here but not posted since early oct very strange like I say hope he is ok

I'd say VolvoPaul misses him more as they are both petrol heads ;)

Agreed, I hope he is OK as his departure is sudden.
