OK, as an aside, without looking it up, in which direction do each of the 4 props spin (Deleted User, Hurric, MYAG and MapisM are banned from answering)?

Good question
Indeed, considering what we were told to be the answer, which btw is something I still can't get my head round.
Not that I pretend to know better than Seven Marine engineers, of course.
But Buzzi is a guy who knows one thing or three about fast boats, and in this thread we already debated his thoughts on this matter...

Oi you lot, this thread is about Fairline, cut it out or I shall get petem to sort you out.

On the other hand it was Pete that started the thread drift.

Both directions......... if you order the CR version ;-) Ah, hold on......that would be 8 props total. No clue then :-(

Another nice try but wrong.

Ah well, was only a guess :)

As I understood/read somewhere outward turning props are supposed to improve low speed manoeuvres, but inward turning a small speed increase? Thus, given 7 marine are high end stuff, I opted for the latter even though the former is most common... I think the theory was for twin setup anyway, so no idea what happens when you get to 4, 6 etc - apart from a big smile but heavy stern and big fuel bill that is!

Couldn't reply without referencing the folks getting laid off at Fairline. Very sad especially when you know some of them .. yes, we lost out as well but nothing compared to the loss employees will suffer --

Off topic :-

these are 557s I think, taken 20 months ago

I had a call with a Fairline Director last week. They are excited about the future and in particular how they can do things differently and better under the new ownership. So I for one remain optomistic. I've been invited to a factory visit and to view the new Targa 53 production line, which will be cool.
