Pretty much as Sailorman described it..... from Oost Dyke straight in.... would only probably do otherwise if v near low water, or a big sea running.....
We went straight in this year and never saw below 4.2m under the keel....
we used to leave Ramsholt Friday late a/n do Oostende [ collect booze] be back in the Ramsholt Arms Sunday lunch all in a 26 footer average trip 14 hrs e/w best ever 13 hrs [ done 25 Nm in 2h 25 mins once, then the spinny halliard broke] no vhf no liferaft, no heater no spray hood,no fridge, but did have compass, log.depth sounder Ah those were the days /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
She'd be fine with careful consideration of the weather... ie don't set out if F6/7 in the forecast...
However, point of caution.... sailing a smaller boat like that over long distances safely does require experience, and that might be something that you'd not quite have enough of by May!
With an experienced crew (such as Tommyrot? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), then i'd think it'd be quite a fun adventure!
Yes I figured I'd need a bit /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif more experience , nice to know it's a possible though . Andy is the one with lots of experience but I'll be kidnapping you and other unwilling but experienced skippers every chance I get /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif got to build up experience somehow /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I'm hoping Neil will be afloat by the time the trip is due /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif , I'm aiming at becoming a stowaway /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif thanks anyway
