Exciting News

Totally agree with you Dylan. You do get some very witty, sharp, amusing people on here. And then you get the same old people wheeling out the same old quick-someone-pass-the-gaffer-tape-lest-my-sides-split repetitive drivel that has nothing to do with practical boat ownership.

I couldn't give a toss about bunny cuddling, bullying, sponsorship or scribbling on yachts any more. But she got her sponsored gear, her boat in the water, it floats and the engine runs (despite this being physically impossible according to the armchair experts).

Get over it and move on people.

(Prepares for some utter genius of the repeat comedy principle to insert low loader joke imminently. Yawn)

This project is utter madness, he hasn't the skills or experience for it, why even to attempt it could render the entire planet in twain.

What you need for this is a bunch of old duffers to start bitching about you until you actually get the thing done.

I'm thinking of arranging a "Shoot a Herring Gull" day on board. Bring your own gun and pay just £250 per head. I'll provide fish and chips and there will be a limitless supply of targets.

How's about sending the YBM Archeology Unit out for a few days field trip. No doubt they'll be able to find enough anomalies to fill the pages for months to come.

brilliant Lakie
pls send PM with your bank details i will BACS a large donation

Who's she ? if you are referring who I think you are we have all moved on . we are just using and sharing experiences learned from other threads /projects ,which is what the forum is all about .
. Go Lakey Go. ......BTW I see you seem to be lacking a hefty anchor . I think I may know of a supplier . Now where did I see that ?

Wot length is the screw & is it a genuine GKN

Ah sorry, yes, I should have said. 6 x 3/4". I do also have a matching one in the popular 6 x 1" size too, but I think if I donated both, I'd want him to get a burgee printed with "Screwed by Avocet" on it. Not sure if B&Q use GKN as thier supplier though...

Wow, what a fantastic project. I admire someone of your age taking on such a challenge. May I suggest we set up a forum just giving page to help you with the expense.

Look chaps, will you all please stop being so negative ?

Just imagine if the OP take sumbrage, and then refuses to post anything about this exciting project, or even worse, anything about welding go-kart steering ball joints with two wet matches, a piece of aluminium foil, and the outer wrapping of a yoghurt pot. Life would become bereft of meaning.

It will need a good engine, I think I saw one off an old Imp, well it was very shiny and had special tapey things around its' tubes.
Mind you there is plenty of deck space for all your lovely nieces to be-sport themselves.

I have bought a new boat.

It needs a bit of work to make it tip top, but at least it's afloat. I expect many of you will be pleased to help me out a bit and I hope to get some commercial sponsorship. It's a great opportunity to get some meaningful exposure.

It's in a Northern marina.

Looks a great project.
Have you a picture of it when the tide is in?

Looks amazing if slightly scary..

Without wanting to be a pippy-pants, is the blue rope in the pic Polyprop? If so that needs to go pronto.. Hateful stuff!!

Other than that, I'll be very interested to see progress of the project.

The point all you ancient grass combing baggers have failed to spot is that Lakie's avant garde vessel has had the new see-through bulwarks installed. That means that she is clearly fit for anything the sea can throw at her - a self draining deck!

I've only skim read so far - has anyone posted yet to say that posting on this thread is wrong? They're my favourite type of comment.
