Exciting News

Lakey, I've got a (second hand) No. 6 brass woodscrew. I prefer to think of it as "pre-loved". It has developed a patina all of it's own that tells a tale of previous adventures (usually involving dried-on varnish and the wrong sized screwdriver). All in all, I think it would be well in-keeping with the rest of the vessel and I'm willing to donate it (if you'll pay the postage and "friend" me on your new Facebook page). Can't say fairer than that, can I?!

I'm thinking of arranging a "Shoot a Herring Gull" day on board. Bring your own gun and pay just £250 per head. I'll provide fish and chips and there will be a limitless supply of targets.

I think with a bit of work you could be onto a winner. First thing I'd do is replace the Mozzie screen on that for'rd vent, I think the mesh is too big on the one that's been fitted.

I have bought a new boat.

It needs a bit of work to make it tip top, but at least it's afloat. I expect many of you will be pleased to help me out a bit and I hope to get some commercial sponsorship. It's a great opportunity to get some meaningful exposure.

It's in a Northern marina.

Wot length is the screw & is it a genuine GKN

This would amount to bullying in a school - set a good example please and grow up.

No it doesn't, it amounts to Satire - Do you call stand up comedians bullies? Stop with the PC over-sensitivity and let people express their amusement at someone who put their head above the parapet and got a bit of a lesson in what happens when you do and people feel they were misled....Jeez!

Don't you have any family members that would be willing to help you e.g. Father, ex-boyfriend etc?

There is nothing wrong with a bit of satire

all good fun - this is the web

play by the rules - get bitten by the rules

there are some extremly witty blokes on here

some high class wordsmiths who in days past could have earned a living sitting witha quill or typrewriter

I laugh several times a day

on the other side of the coin there are some mean spirited boorish old blokes on here who sling digits around in a most uncaring way

the sort who like to dish it out but soon get huffie if they get some back

there are times when I doubt that some of the more active blokes ever sail

they live in the past glories of their offshore exploits - and nothing wrong with that either

frightened of their own wind shadow though some of them perhaps

all human life is here

and it is all the better for that

trying to tell them to stop bullying an unnamed and no longer active forumite it utterly counter-productive

but if it makes the bunny huggers feel better about themselves then that is alright too

light and shade

as you were lads... back to the satire
