Excellent Service from MARLEC

I believe we should give praise where praise is due so here is some for Marlec.
I had some issues with a HRDi controller which was very quickly resolved with a new unit. The response to emails was very prompt and the customer service was excellent. Well done Marlec.

Agreed. I had a problem with a 914 generator some years ago, and their support was first-class.

I beg to differ.

I had a 913 overheat and their vaunted 'world-wide service' didn't extend to Portugal. Three of their controllers burned out with one one being replaced under warranty (after much arguing).

The generator might work alongside a railway track but is sure doesn't at sea. It spends most of it's time spinning on its horizontal axis.

The hopeless design of the mounting mast means the thing buckles as soon as you tighten the bolts holding the stays. Their solar panel connections failed one month past warranty. With no discount offered on their replacement.

Not to mention the fibs they tell about their wind generator's output.

Never again.

After the first one flew apart in a gale, and the second one's brush gear failed, I gave up and changed to PV panels. To be fair, the 140w PV panels are being successfully handled by the Marlec HRDi controller.

When my out of warranty generator was putting out too many amps they very generously replaced it with a newer model, completely free of charge.
