Worked at Hillyards for summer, what size was yours or was it before they standerized the tonnage.?
The two and a half tonner, apparently Dennis Culingford Hillyards nephew who took over the are had to build one to show he knew about boatbuildingIt was quite small ... about the 20ft mark ... I used to sleep on the cabin floor between the two bunks.

Any excuse to post a picture. I did sail last year with the mizzen mast off for repairs, and didn't notice a huge difference. I think the main advantage is on a broad rerach.

Well I have to agree.Well for aesthetics a William Fife 3 gaff rigger schooner would trump that any day of the week
But for practical yacht cruising, a Bermudan sloop with roller furling jib is perfect for most people.
Thanks, should have done something when Iwas youngerLike this?

I'm trying to think of the name of a traditional (classic) production yacht (no longer in production) which is similar to the Hans Christian ocean going yacht (ketch?)
