Evinrude 6hp Longshaft Yachtwin..... Manual??

Vic 3 mins is pretty quick :-)

My experience is with big marine diesels not outboards, but I believe the carb to be dirty and possible jets problems from the symptoms it's giving off. I wanted to see the carb part of manual to see how easy to clean and if I need any gaskets.

Also wanted to check if I can lock the steering, and also stop it from rising up in reverse!

Have you got one on your seawych?

P.s I'm white hull/grey top, sail number 746.
Am I mk 1 or 2?

Cheers, james

From the bottom up

white and grey could be either Mk 1 or Mk 2 but they were red and white from sail number three hundred and something. Mine is 408 and when i bought it the first red and white one had only fairly recently been completed and launched. i did not know the sail numbers went as high as 746 .

See the Seawych info page on the website for details ... but its not all correct I am afraid.

Yes i have a 6hp Yachtwin on mine.

There is friction adjustment on the steering.. Its a slotted/hexagon headed screw ( with a spring under the head IIRC) right at the top of the steering swivel port side immediately behind the transom clamp bracket. Its difficult to get it tight enough to really lock it so I dont grease the steering swivel. Hidden by the chain in the pic below.

I'll send a PM about the owners manual but I am afraid it contains no info on the carb.
You will find exploded diagrams in the parts list eg http://www.boats.net/parts/search/BRP/EVINRUDE/parts.html

You might also find some info in the manual at http://boatinfo.no/lib/library.html

The tilt lock is the flat headed knob on the front of the clamp bracket. See 2nd pic below
