What's the problem. Big boats have 3 phase gennies - that's 415 V ac (rms). Peak voltage is about 580 VStill nobody commenting on the 600V DC in the engine room.
Do you realise the power involved.
I know we are only talking volts here but the extra voltage over the 24v that we are used to will make the terminals very dangerous.
Just imagine all that electrical power available at a 600V DC terminal that can suddenly release a huge number of amps that you would have stored to drive the boat.
Do you all realise just what that power can do?
Smaller boats have single phase 230V ac rms - peak 325 V - if you get hold of the wrong end of that you are just as dead.
You can get more than a tingle from 28V DC with good contact - aka a bit wet.
