My ETAP 23 has got the dreaded chain plate lurgy, which has resulted in hull distortion and cracking. ETAP know about this problem and have issued details on how to rectify the problem but refuse to accept responsability. I have heard various ways to treat this, attacking it from the inside( very labour intensive as you have to remove ALL the interior joinery) My surveyor has suggested going in from the outside hull....so has anybody out there have experience of this. It affects boats built between 1985 -96
I plan to fight ETAP on this and would be interested to hear from any other ETAP owners.
