Erm ...its next week then....

It's turning into a will they won't they soap opera:)

Meanwhile poor old Murv is having to sell his nicks and his naks on the for sale section to pay the Crew's wages just for being on standby.....Murv ya don't need no Ancient Mariner.....just hook a right outa Penton, close your eyes going thru Chertsey Bridge....keep going till the river gets wide n scary....look out for a big chimney stack and hang a right...I mean turn to starboard....jobs a good 'un:encouragement::p

But just watch out for the scary sinky bang bang ship when you make the right..... And if you find yourself in the middle of a load of sparky windmills you've gone too far.

:D

At the moment I have visions of the thing still stuck there in 10 Years time in a delightful shade of moss green; half sunken with rows of flowerpots stacked along the decks and a crazed, wild-eyed nutter glaring out of the broken windows at the howling wind and rain.
Still, I've sold enough bits now to just cover the bottom of the tanks in a thin film of diesel :)

Flynnbarr, plan "M," or is it "N"... I forget... but one of them was to cut the ropes, push it out into the floodwaters then simply wait for it, with a dingy on standby at Garrison point.

Still, looking forward. Next weeks weather is forecast calm and dry. Right up until next weekend when storm force easterlies are predicted, anyway...

Friday looks OK...............................at the moment.
Nice early start about 05.00 at lock :)

Problem is if you stay up there to long your grip on reality starts to erode, very slowly at first and suddenly without warning you become a grumpy old complainer, with a deep and heartfelt conviction that the entire world is got it in for you especially rowers or for that matter anybody and anything else on "your" bit of river.
Escape while you can. There is still time.

must confess I've been wondering if the time isn't right for a net curtains revival - we could do with a return to a few old fashioned standards !

Would this involve not jumping the que at locks and moving your boat as close as possible to the gates while waiting ,not six boat lengths away and glaring at anybody who is forced to moor in front of you ?
