Going to look at boat at weekend which has had the hull treated with above stuff. Why would it have been done ie. osmosis or is it just good quality antifouling ?

Service with a snarl.

Have heard lots of positives & negatives with this treatment, normally applied because it lasts for years with no real maintenance. My stinkpot has the same treatment and I never have to do anything with it except scub down, it's in a lake enviorment so don't know how it performs at sea. The life expectancy is supposed to be 10 years, mine has lasted 4 so far and doesn't appear to be disappearing yet.

As for osmosis, depends on how old the hull is and whether or not the previous owner was just thinking I don't want to go throught the normal antifouling every year.

My Princess 388 has this stuff on it, now the only time it needs any maintainance is when it stops working, all you have to do is rub it down with very smooth wet and dry paper to expose the copper in the epoxey paint, you can keep doing this untill you see the gelcoat then its time to antifoul it, now this was applied to my boat in late 1996 and it is still working fine, must have saved a good sum over the last 2 /3 years anyway by now.
