EPIRB\'s

Class 1 & Class 2 Epirb's are 406 MHz.

Do they all also operate on 121.5 MHz?

Considering buying in US.
Anyone else done this, with experience of re -registering in UK? Any other problems?

also try ringing the EPIRB Registry at MRCC Falmouth, I am sure they will give you sound advice on re-registering.

I could be wrong but suspect its not simply registration required if for use on a UK vessel. The units hex code is categorised by country - we bought a boat ex Holland and had to pay (around £90 from memory) to have the ERIPBS hex code changed to match a UK vessel.

Did that.

No problem, done via UK agent since vessel UK flagged.

However, now trying to find EPIRB in US with an Agency in UK. McMurdo for example, only sell thru a Florida based outlet & I am leaving from much further North.

Any suggestions?
