Scrubbed my GRP decks last night (long over due) on my swinging mooring just with water and brush.

Looking at it, I need something to help get the ingrained grime out, however its all going to be washed off into the drink after so don't want to use chemicals really.

Any ideas? White vinegar maybe?

I've always just used washing up liquid, though this is probably frowned on nowadays (good job I so rarely do it :) ). But I know tree-huggy types use ecover washing up liquid, so perhaps that?

Oops! But surely if sprayed diluted as required and allowed to dry there is less chance of any nastiness happening? Got to be less damaging than bleach?

If you spray it on with a fine mister to prevent run off it will do less damage than the cleaners people flush out through their toilets or the detergents that drain out of their sinks.
