31 years old double burner (ENO) cooker and furnace.
During our last pasta preparation, a small flame appeared just behind the knob in use. It actually only partly destroyed the plastic knob because we were very lucky to notice it promptly. Subsequent tests showed that there is a leak once the big burner is in use.
The question here is what tips should one bear in mind if he was prepared to try to dismandle the beast, or should he proceed at all in the first place.
