The Correio da Manha reports that three English women who were practising stand up paddle near Sagres found themselves unable to return due to wind and current and called for help. They were rescued by the local lifeboat, cold and tired but unharmed.

Was anchored there and left yesterday around noon. Didn't see any desperate women to rescue though, when was this? We dinghied to the little "private" beach that you can only reach by boat or rock-climb, left footprints in the sand and swam a bit. Was a bit fresh (15°C), but I'd clumsified myself out of the dinghy upon landing and decided I might as well go swim now.

Standing up on a wobbly board with all the windage that creates never made much sense to me. Odd fashion trend. Kayaks seem far more practical for the same size.
